Kaye started her career in community relations at a young age when she worked for G.E. Capital during the mid 1990’s. Jack Welch, who was the CEO of G.E. at the time, introduced Kaye to Six Sigma, a set of techniques and tools that use statistics, financial analysis, and project management to improve business processes. Kaye moved to a community position at the Southern Nevada Health District where she managed various outreach programs and the prestigious Medical Reserve Corps. In 2001, Kaye (known as Kathleen then) was instrumental in creating the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, a social service nonprofit in Las Vegas Nevada that helps young persons who are couch-surfing or homeless. She served two years as a Councilmember for the City of Henderson and is a proud graduate of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Leadership program (2005). She was named Nevada Woman of the Year in 2001 by Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Pappa. She is a former Board member for the Henderson Boys & Girls Club, Arts Council of Henderson, and Nevada Child Seekers.

After spending five years at the Southern Nevada Health District, Kaye went to work for the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth where she effectively lead the initiative to implement the “Right to Shelter” law. This law was enacted in 2001 and gives homeless youth in Nevada the same rights to food and shelter that their adult counterparts received. She spent 10-years at the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and successfully raised enough funding to acquire, and open, three residential homes and the William Fry drop-in center. Kaye relocated to San Diego in 2012 and began her journey of recovery.

Kaye is an interventionist and a certified Peer Support Specialist with a MediCAL credential. She is also certified in volunteer management and public speaker through Toastmasters International. These credentials, along with her own journey of long-term recovery, have afforded her opportunities to serve on various boards and commissions aiding in disability rights, mental health, and homeless advocacy. She is the past Board President for the Brother Bennos Foundation, a 40-year old social service provider in North County, San Diego that helps homeless individuals suffering from substance use disorder. She is a past appointee of Supervisor Joel Anderson to the San Diego County Behavioral Health Board and the Disability Advisory Board. Kaye is the current Board Secretary for Vegas Stronger, a Las Vegas based nonprofit dedicated to eliminating homelessness caused by addiction. In her free time she enjoys backpacking and night hiking.
